Chen Ze

Photographer, educator, 2020 STF Fellow

Also known as Chen Chuanduan, Chen received his master's in comparative education at Beijing Normal Universty and went to the Civic Ecology Lab of Cornell University as a visiting scholar in 2018. His academic focus is on entrepreneurship and innovation education, nature education, and biophilia and topophilia. His art work focuses on the minutiae of human activity through rigorous academic convergence to resonate with viewers and stimulate thought. Later, his experience in the mountains got him interested in natural life, land, and the connection between humans and nature. In August 2019, he published the photo book "Restrained Orders," earning him the title of a "Top 20 2019 Chinese Modern Photography New Talent." Chen now lives and works as a photographer and educator in Shanghai.
