Xu Yaping
Associate professor in media and culture at Shanghai Normal University, 2020 STF Fellow
Xu Yaping has been researching and teaching image media and culture since 2014 in Beijing and Shanghai universities, and prior to that received her Ph.D. in communication studies from Hong Kong Baptist University. She has published a number of academic papers related to documentary and memory, new audiovisions, image media theories, and more. In addition, she also has made installation artwork and short documentary films. Urban-rural relationships and their representations have been major research interests.
